This Day In Music

Recently, This Day In Music re-launched their Web site: www.thisdayinmusic.com. Complete with a new look and more pop and rock facts than ever before, this Web site has a lot to offer music fans.

Did you know that, before becoming Elvis Presley's agent, Colonel Tom Parker ran a troupe of dancing chickens? Did you know that the baby featured on the front of Nirvana's Nevermind album was four-month-old Spencer Elden? Did you know Ringo Starr was the first person in Britain to own a home video recorder?

The Web site features 75 per cent of free material for any user. Included on the site are all of the current days events covering the early years of rock n' roll to the current day. You can see who was born "On This Day", plus events in history including chart positions, historic gigs, drug busts, arrests death, etc.

The site also features every UK and US number one from 1952 to today; best sellers charts, anagrams, mug shots, my first record, things you didn't know, jokes, album of the week, 50 years of music awards and readers' polls, quiz and quote of the day, and so much more.

Users can subscribe to the site. The subscription offers over 10,000 musical events, which are all listed by date and go back five decades.

Look for a book based on the Web site to be published by Collins & Brown in October 2005.
