Canada Council For The Arts Deadlines 2005-2006

Recently, the Canada Council for the Arts announced their Calendar of Deadlines for 2005-2006, which is now available on their Web site, www.canadacouncil.ca.

The various grants and programs have different deadlines throughout the year and are for all artistic disciplines including: music, theatre, visual arts, inter-Arts, aboriginal arts, media arts, writing and publishing, and dance. The Web site includes details on each of the grants and projects.

Music grants and program deadlines are as follows:

· Travel Grants to Professional Musicians
Anytime (at least 6 weeks before departure date)
· Grants for Specialized Music Sound Recording
April 1 and October 1, 2005
· Professional Choir Program; Concert Production and Rehearsal Program for Aboriginal, Classical, Folk, Jazz, and World Music; Grants for Specialized Music Distribution; New Music Program
May 15, 2005
· Music Touring Program
June 15 and December 15, 2005
· Residencies and Commissioning of Canadian Compositions
September 15, 2005 and January 15, 2006
· Music Festivals Programming Project Grants; Music Festival Travel Grants
September 15, 2005 (for festivals taking place between December 1, 2005 and May 31, 2005)
February 15, 2006 (for festivals taking place between June 1, 2006 and November 30, 2006)
· Career Development Program
October 1, 2005
· Grants to Professional Musicians (Individuals)
November 1, 2005 and March 1, 2006
· Opera/Music Theatre Program
December 1, 2005
· Professional Orchestra Program
