Newton Garwood Passes On

On Friday, November 4, 2005, Newton Garwood, who managed the Bloor St. location of Long & McQuade, passed away suddenly from cancer. He has been an employee at the store since 1976, before which he was a professional keyboard player for many years. Newton was an original member of the well-known Toronto group, Leigh Ashford. Newton will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Humphrey Funeral Home, (416) 487-4523, located at 1403 Bayview, just south of Davisville, in Toronto on Wednesday, November 9th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., also Thursday, November 10th from 10-11 a.m., with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.
