Yamaha Loses A Friend

Paul Martineau, Keyboard Division manager at Yamaha Canada Music Ltd., suffered a fatal heart attack during a business trip to his beloved Banff, AB on October 24, 2005. For many years, he openly said that when his time came, he wanted to be laid to rest in Banff. A tragic coincidence, with his wishes carried out in a private ceremony by his wife Brenda, daughter Julie, brother Lou and Yamaha Canada staff. Paul was 55 and in his 26th year at Yamaha. Before Yamaha, he began his musical career at the Jack McBride Music store in St. Catharines, ON, and then joined Yamaha as a sales consultant in western Canada. A big man in stature, his presence was felt not only for his size, but his wit, humour and global experience and knowledge in the keyboard industry. Yamaha Corporation of Japan and Yamaha Corporation of America, acknowledge his input and valuable contributions over the many years.

To pay tribute to Paul, his coworkers, family, friends, artists and music industry people, attended the Paul Martineau Memorial on November 10th in Toronto.
