Yamaha Piaggero NP Series Digital Pianos

Yamaha has introduced its new Piaggero NP Series digital pianos. Comprised of the NP-31 and NP-11 digital pianos, this series offers classic Yamaha piano tone and 76 full-sized keys in a portable package weighing in at 12 lbs. (NP-31).

The 61-key NP-11 model features a panel design with dedicated voice-select buttons. The Piaggero has a built-in metronome with adjustable tempo and time signature. The NP-31′s Graded Soft Touch Action has been developed to emulate the graded resistance of an acoustic piano without the added weight of hammers.

Additionally, the NP-31 and NP-11 make for a note-entry MIDI controller with natural piano voices built-in for home studio use.

The series also includes the Energy Conservation Optimized (ECO) power-down feature, which automatically engages a power-saving mode after 30 minutes of inactivity and can be over-ridden if the user so desires.

DiMarzio Paul Gilbert Injector Signature Pickups

A collaboration between DiMarzio Pickups and guitarist Paul Gilbert has resulted in the introduction of the company’s new Injector line of pickups. The single-coil sized pickups are available in neck and bridge models.

The DP 423 bridge hum canceling model features 185 mv output with six individual alnico magnets. Designed to work equally well with rapid single note arpeggios and power chords without becoming muddy or compressed, the DP 423 has been tested to provide 40 per cent less magnet-pull than standard single coils.

The DP 422 hum canceling neck model has been designed to proved a warm and loud modern sound. The Injector tracks high speed solos at high gain without becoming thin or muddy, and has been engineered to offer a full, well-balanced, clean sound.
