Canadian Musician Does the 2016 Polaris Music Prize Gala
Monday, October 3rd, 2016While Canadian Musician‘s Andrew King was sequestered in the Grand Jury room, photographer Mark Matusoff was running around the main room of Toronto’s Carlu, capturing photos of the Polaris Music Prize Gala and its presenters and performers. Ultimately, Montreal producer Kaytranada’s phenomenal album 99.9% took the title and $50,000 grand prize, though the performances from seven of the 10 shortlisted acts proved, to borrow a perhaps overused cliche, that there were no losers associated with this, the 11th edition of the prize.
