National Search for Canadian Musical Talent

The Canadian Value of Music Coalition (CVOMC), along with the students at the Harris Institute for the Arts in Toronto, are offering an opportunity for unsigned artists and bands to stream their music on the www.keepmusiccoming.com Web site.

Twelve successful entrants to the project called “Opening Act” will have their song featured at www.keepmusiccoming.com starting in January 2004. The selected artists or bands will each receive 100 copies of a compilation CD featuring the winning tracks as well as publicity about their success.

“The only way for music to evolve is through the support of new artists. But you have to find them first,” says John Harris, President of Harris Institute of the Arts. “I think the Web is one of the most innovative tools available for finding new and original music.”

All of the submissions will be evaluated on originality, production quality, overall performance and quality of musical composition.

Entering the contest is simple. Just go to www.keepmusiccoming.com, complete an entry form and send it, along with a copy of your song to Opening Act, Canadian Value of Music Coalition c/o 99 Crown’s Lane, Suite 3F, Toronto, ON M5R 3P4 by November 26, 2003.

Please note that no submissions will be returned and incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
