CBC & AVLA Announce Historic Music Licensing Deal

CBC and the Audio-Video Licensing Agency (AVLA) have announced that a music licensing deal has been reached. This deal will allow CBC to offer Canadians more of its radio programs online, on demand, as well as launch a new Canadian digital music service this winter.

The deal is the first negotiated collective license in Canada for on-line streaming and podcasting of radio and online digital music programming.  (more…)

TuneCore Expands Into Canada

TuneCore’s music distribution service is now available to Canadian artists seeking additional avenues for their music to be accessed. Using TuneCore’s new Canadian site, Canadian artists can get their music distributed into iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and more. The Canadian site, which is available exclusively to Canadian artists, is priced in domestic currency and features no currency conversion on domestic sales. (more…)
