The Western Canadian Music Alliance (WCMA) has released the full festival and conference schedules for the 2017 edition of BreakOut West (BOW), taking place from Sept. 13-17 in Edmonton. BOW incorporates a four-day conference, three-night music festival, and the Western Canadian Music Awards.

The BreakOut West Music Festival features a multi-genre line-up of over 50 established and emerging artists from Western Canada performing at multiple venues throughout Edmonton. New this year is the East Meets West collaboration between the East Coast Music Association and WCMA, which will see Maritime artist like PEI’s Dylan Menzie Nova Scotia’s Hillsburn showcase at BOW. In this reciprocal arrangement, western artists will be selected to perform at the next East Coast Music Week.

The four-day conference combines keynote Q&As and panel discussions with Canadian and international industry professionals with more hands-on, interactive, and one-on-one experiences. Among the speakers at this year’s conference are: Chris Wynters, the director of festival marketing and partnerships at Six Shooter Records; Carly Rockett, who  is the ticketing and operations manager for Communion Presents, the live arm of Communion Music Group, based in the U.K.; Jeremy Giacomin, and agent/talent buyer at Paquin Artists Agency; and Andy McLean, the executive director of the East Coast Music Association.

One element is the the Online Asset Reviews, in which participants will have a chance to see what the visiting industry sees – in real time – when they go searching for information about the artist. Three rooms, three screens, and three audio systems will be used to analyse artists’ online presence while offering all an insider look at A&R in today’s music industry. Conference attendees can now sign up to take part in the Online Assets Review HERE.
