Nielsen Music Canada and the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) have announced that Nielsen Music is serving as the exclusive data provider for Canada’s biggest country music awards show by supporting the balloting and selection process of the 2017 nominations with its music data and insights through the Music Connect platform.

The CCMA Awards show will take place on Sept. 10 in Saskatoon, SK, and will air on CBC featuring a number of musical performances, including Gord Bamford with Jim Cuddy, Dean Brody, Tim Hicks, Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke, Meghan Patrick, Dallas Smith, The Washboard Union, as well as international superstar Blake Shelton.

“The CCMA Awards recognize the biggest names in Canadian country music, and we’re delighted to provide our data and insights in support of the 2017 show,” said Paul Shaver, Head of Nielsen Music Canada.

Nielsen Music has placed a strong focus on the Canadian market with the recent launch of the Nielsen Music Connect Mobile App – an on-the-go solution offering users access to comprehensive music consumption data on their mobile devices.

“We are thrilled to have Nielsen Music on board as our exclusive date provider in conjunction with the 2017 CCMA Awards Program,” shared Tracy Martin, Interim President of the Canadian Country Music Association. “Nielsen has been our source for delivering accurate, trusted data in the most efficient way possible. They are an incredibly valuable partner for the CCMA.”
