Nielsen Entertainment Names Paul Shaver Head of Canadian Music Division

Nielsen  has announced the appointment of Paul Shaver as the Head of Nielsen Music Canada.  In this role, the Canadian music industry veteran will oversee all commercial operations surrounding the measurement and insights of music for Nielsen in the Canadian market. He joins the company with more than 20 years of experience in the music industry.

Before joining Nielsen, Shaver held leadership roles at HMV Canada, Virgin Music Canada, and EMI, where he served as VP of marketing and promotion. Following Universal’s Acquisition of EMI, he was also VP of marketing at Universal Music.  Most recently, Shaver was GM/SVP of Open Road Recordings & RGK Entertainment, where he oversaw a top Canadian indie country music label and management company.Over the years, Shaver has played a part in developing the careers of artists in Canada including Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, and Lady Antebellum‎.
