Montreal Musician Robbie Tucker has began Musicians Against Parkinson's (www.mapmusic.org), a new website whereby musicians & labels can donate their digital music in order to spread awareness and raise money for Parkinson's disease.

The Montreal International Music Initiative (MIMI) recently announced that Dave Cool, Director of the documentary film What is INDIE? and Program Director of the Centre St-Ambroise will host the Cocktail Gala for the 11th Edition of the MIMI, alongside Catherine Mathys, host of “Baromètre” on Canal Vox. The Gala takes place at the Lion d’Or (1676 East Ontario St, Montréal), on March 1st, starting at 8:00PM.

MusiCan, the charitable arm of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), together with CTVglobemedia announced today the establishment of the MusiCan Fred Sherratt Award to be given in this inaugural year to 11 outstanding post-secondary graduates of Canadian music programs.
