Mediabase, a music industry subscription service that monitors radio airplay in the U.S. and Canada, and song-identification app Shazam have announced a partnership that will see Shazam release a weekly chart of the top “Shazam-ed” songs in the U.S. and Canada and other data on the Mediabase site every Monday. It is the first time such data is being made available in either country.
The Canadian weekly Shazam chart will include the top 30 songs from 10 Canadian markets.
Mediabase President & CEO Philippe Generali said, “We are excited to be able to provide Shazam data on a weekly basis for our radio and music industry clients. This has been one of the most requested features our subscribers have been asking for and we’re elated to be able to deliver this data is an accessible and timely manner.”
