Stones planePackage holiday company TravelBird has released the Most Travelled Musicians Ranking, presenting a comprehensive insight into the travel miles of the world’s most popular artists. TravelBird combined music, travel, and curiosity within the study of 36 popular artists. The ranking reveals which bands and musicians have the greatest number of travel miles under their belt and who holds the title of the world’s most travelled. In addition to presenting the most travelled artists, TravelBird also calculated how much it would cost an ultimate superfan to have followed each musician throughout their career.

Searchlight-Promo-FB or TwitterCBC Music has announced the industry panel for Searchlight 2017 and it include none other than Canadian Musician’s own Editor-in-Chief, Andrew King, alongside a host of prominent personalities from around the Canadian music scene and industry. Through the Searchlight contest, CBC Music is searching for “Canada’s next great music act,” and submissions are currently being accepted until Feb. 7, 2017.

The industry panel for Searchlight 2017 is comprised of top artists, music producers and radio hosts, as well as other music industry professionals in A&R, artist management, music publishing, concert promotion, music journalism, publicity and music festival production. Our panelists will be grading the submissions that make it to the regional finals to help determine the 23 winners who will advance to the national round. Meet the judges who are on this year’s panel, listed below in alphabetical order according to their first names.


CCMA Discovery Program Submissions Deadline Extended to Jan. 31

CCMA_Discovery_Logo_2014_CS_3The deadline for submissions for the 2017 CCMA Discovery Program has been EXTENDED to Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. ET.

The 2017 CCMA Discovery Program will see six jury-selected finalists flown to Toronto for Music Industry Discovery Week this spring, where they’ll learn in-depth about the music business, meet key players in the industry, perform at an exclusive showcase, and so much more. Each finalist will also be paired with an established Canadian country artist for a mentorship opportunity, in addition to performing at the CCMA Discovery Showcase, an official PotashCorp Country Music Week event. One finalist will be presented with the 2017 CCMA Discovery Award at the CCMA Gala Dinner & Awards, as part of PotashCorp Country Music Week 2017 in Saskatoon.
