I came across a blog post by Mike (I think…) of F***ed Up about the band’s experiences at SXSW over the last few years. It’s an interesting read, regardless of whether or not you agree with all of his points.

The band has certainly drawn a nice balance between creating uncompromising music and still enjoying a respectable degree of success. In fact, last year’s The Chemistry of Common Life was one of the 10 best Canadian records of 2009 according to this humble blogger, and actually named the best Canadian release by the reputable folks on the Polaris Music Prize jury. Check out Young Artists For Haiti, coming together and recording an inspirational version of K’naan’s "Wavin’ Flag" with producer Bob Ezrin. All proceeds from the collaboration are being donated to Haiti relief efforts. You can get all the info about the project here: www.youngartistsforhaiti.net.
