Artist Showcase Application Deadline for the 2019 Folk Alliance International in Montreal is Aug. 15

FAIThe are only six days left to submit artist showcase applications for the 2019 Folk Alliance International conference and festival, which will be held in Montreal from Feb. 13-17, 2019. The showcase application deadline is Aug. 15, 2018. This will be the first time that FAI, the world’s largest roots music conference and showcase, has returned to Canada in five years.

Showcase Applications Open for CMW 2019

CMW summitArtist applications are being accepted for Canadian Music Week’s 2019 showcase festival. The current application fee is $40, which rises to $62 on Nov. 5, 2018.

Each year Canadian Music Week attracts thousands of artists and industry from around the world to gather in Toronto for a week of live music, learning, and networking. Showcasing artists will receive a pass to the CMW conference, which offers panels, one-on-one meetings, and more.

This prize will shine a spotlight on female Hip Hop, Rap, Reggae, R&B, and Soul creators. This opportunity is for those who write, produce and/or perform music within those genres or related sub-genres.

One winner will receive $2,000 to create and produce a music video.

AES Toronto’s June Meeting to Explore Analog to Digital Converters

Jazz Cartier at Yonge-Dundas Square for NXNE 2018

The 2018 edition of NXNE say the long-running festival bring its programming back to Toronto’s downtown core after a few years at the more isolated Port Lands site. Canadian Musician’s Samantha Everts-Matusoff and Mark Matusoff were on the ground for the event and Mark snapped some killer shots from the stage at Yonge-Dundas Square. Check ’em out!

Indie Week Canada Artist Applications Deadline Approaching

Indie WeekThere is little under a month left for artists to apply to showcase at Indie Week Canada 2018. This year’s Indie Week festival and conference will be taking place around downtown Toronto from Nov. 6-11. The deadline to apply to play is July 16, 2018 and for information is available at canada.indieweek.com/apply.

Indie Week is open to all genres except comedy and cover acts. Bands/artists must not be signed directly to a major label, but bands signed to an indie label with major distribution are still allowed to apply.
