#CMPremiere – Alessia Cohle’s “Wild Eyed Wanderer” EP

Monday, October 23rd, 2017

Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cohle is set to release her new EP, Wild Eyed Wanderer, on October 27th.  Featuring the already-successful single “Wanderlust,” the EP was produced by award-winning producer Douglas Romanow (Justin Bieber, Johnny Reid) and we’re bringing you an exclusive stream of the six-song collection a little early in this #CMPremiere.

“These are not your typical country songs as there are musical influences of soul and R&B intertwined with country roots,” shares Cohle. “Lyrically, they range in different topics that are true to my story, but I feel they tell of experiences that are relateable to listeners. I’m so grateful to my co-writers who helped me express what I wanted to say, and to my producer, Douglas Romanow, for helping to make these songs come to life!”

Growing up in a family where everyone played an instrument or sang, Cohle cut her teeth on stage at an early age, singing Italian folk music with her grandfather and her dad’s bands.

Cohle’s father also introduced her to classic rock, Motown, soul, pop, and country – all of which were on heavy rotation in the Cohle household. She performed wherever and whenever she could and studied music with an unrelenting passion.

Attending Berklee with other musicians from all over the world – all with highly diverse backgrounds – reinforced her desire to achieve her musical goals.

While Cohle’s brand of country is firmly rooted in the longstanding lyrical traditions of the genre – songs that speak directly to the soul – they are drawn as much from her own life experience as from her observations of the world around her.

Since the release of her 2015 debut EP, Let’s Get Gone, and breakthrough single, ‘Sunday Shoes,’ Cohle has won the hearts of country music fans nationwide; particularly in small towns where country music lives. Cohle was chosen as ‘The Voice’ of Great Lakes Country by Little Current, Ontario’s Country 103 and also named the Country Music Association of Ontario’s Artist of the Month for February 2017.

She’s had many opportunities to reach wider audiences on stage as well: at Canadian Country Music Week in 2016, where she shared the stage with artists like Aaron Pritchett; opening for Brett Kissel on his 2017 Ice, Snow & 30 Below tour; at various Ontario music festivals; and on a promotional tour through Atlantic Canada for Talk To Me.

To say she likes to keep busy is a massive understatement. Between demoing in Toronto, writing trips to Austin and Nashville, summer festival dates and a September Western Canadian tour – during which she participated in VIA Rail’s Artists on Board Program, Cohle was virtually booked solid throughout 2017.
