#CMPremiere – Cat Clyde’s “Mama Said” Live Video

Monday, June 19th, 2017

Singer-songwriter Cat Clyde has made some impressive inroads since the release of her acclaimed debut, Ivory Castanets. In this exclusive #CMPremiere, we’re sharing a beautifully-shot live video of Cat performing one of the album’s standout tracks, “Mama Said,” from the Stampede City Sessions in Calgary. Here’s what Cat had to say about the performance:

“The Stampede City Session was my first ever show out west, and the first show of my two-week tour down the west coast with SUSTO,” she says. “I was inducted as an honourary citizen of Calgary that night. it was a really good time!”

Cat Clyde is a brand new artist out of Stratford, ON with a fresh take on the classic sounds of yesteryear, breathing new life into the velvety vocal, tack-piano, slide-guitar style that can instantly walk you through the swinging doors of a packed saloon. With influences ranging from Etta James to Janis Joplin to Lead Belly, hers is a mix that goes down smoother than a neat glass of mellow Kentucky bourbon.
