Official Showcase Applications Open June 15 – October 3, 2016
Almost 200 Official Showcase artists are selected through a juried process by presenters and industry experts who review over 700 applications annually.
The jury considers quality of work, career trajectory, and tour-readiness. They recommend both emerging and established artists, a balanced mix of gender, folk music traditions, cultures, geography, languages, sounds and genres (from blues to Celtic, traditional to world, and songwriters to instrumentalists, etc), as well as a continually refreshed list of artists.
As has been the process the past two years, artists are not eligible to apply if they have had two consecutive Official Showcases for the past two years (the 2015 and 2016 conferences).
