Which Genres Are Most Represented Among Canadian Albums This Year?

Tuesday, August 18th, 2015

The folks at Canadian Music Blog have put together an interesting chart to sort out what genres are most represented among the 363 LPs released so far in 2015.

As they say, “Take it with a grain of salt as what sounds like blues to one may sound like rock to another. At what point does pop become dance or R&B? Where is the line drawn between punk and metal? It’s all very subjective.” Good point.

They don’t give specific numbers, but the chart clearly indicates that singer-songwriter, alternative, and rock dominate the landscape in this country.
