CMW 2016 Now Accepting Artist SubmissionsThursday, July 16th, 2015
Artist submissions are being accepted for next year’s Canadian Music Week, which will take place May 4-14, 2016 in Toronto. Organizers say it is a chance for indie artists to play in front of thousands of industry insiders, such as talent buyers, booking agents, festival programmers, music publishers, A&R reps, managers, music supervisors, and more from around the world.
Up to 300 performance slots are reserved for Sonicbids artists at CMW 2016. Performing artists receive a complimentary registration to CMW’s Music Summit 2016 (valued at $799 CAD).
Those who apply via sonicbids by Sept. 1, 2015 will receive the early bird price of $25 and a chance to win a Gibson Les Paul Studio Guitar. Application prices go up to $40 on Oct. 31st and $50 on Nov. 1st. The final application deadline is Jan. 15, 2016.
Organizers say that for artists, CMW is a chance to learn and network with pros from all sectors of the industry with the tools and knowledge to build a career in music. The event features panels, keynotes/celebrity interviews, mentoring sessions, speed-dating, workshops, award shows, networking opportunities, an international marketplace, and comedy shows.
All entrants will receive a complementary pass to attend Canadian Music Weeks Music Summit 2016 (valued at $799 CAD). Backline and sound equipment vary by venue and set times and lengths vary by showcase and venue.
