Electric Violin Inventor Mark Wood to Lead Clinic at Bloor St. Long & McQuade

Mark WoodLong & McQuade on Bloor Street in Toronto and Counterpoint Musical Services are presenting a free clinic by Mark Wood, member of The Trans-Siberian Orchestra and international electric violinist, on Saturday, June 20th from 2-4 p.m.

Mark Wood has collaborated with and appeared alongside some of the biggest names in music such as Lenny Kravitz, Celine Dion, Kanye West, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, and Steven Tyler.

Wood, referred to “the Les Paul of the electric violin,” invented the electric violin back in the 1970s, when he was just 12 years old. The June 20th workshop will offer tips and techniques for electric violin playing in an interactive setting. Wood is a strong advocate for music education and has developed his own supplemental curriculum for music programs incorporating his vast experience as a performer, composer, arranger, innovator, and educator.
